As a candidate for Richmond School Trustee, she is committed to quality education, strong community partnerships, transparent leadership, and ensuring every student and family has a voice.

Why I'm Running

People often ask me, "Helen, you're ready to retire—why are you running for School Trustee?"

Because I believe every child deserves the very best education.

More than 33 years ago, my family and I made Richmond our home. Both of my sons graduated from Richmond public schools. As a parent, I understand what families value most: safe schools, quality education, and opportunities for every child to succeed.

For over 30 years, I have proudly served students, families, newcomers, seniors, and our multicultural community. I am now seeking the opportunity to bring that experience to the Richmond Board of Education and continue advocating for students and families.
